SP4PHC aims to improve how governments purchase primary health care services, with a focus on family planning and maternal, newborn, and child health. SP4PHC is supported by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
With support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ThinkWell’s Bangladesh team implements the “Enhancing Essential Services Provision for Universal Health Coverage (EESPUHC), in the context of Covid-19 activity,” which supports the Government of Bangladesh to prioritize and execute on planning and investments for regularizing and improving access to essential health services.
We support the Government of Mozambique strengthen health programs and policies aimed at improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health.
Through an Asian Development Bank-funded project, we support the Government of Bangladesh to improve and develop relevant policy actions with a focus on the response to the Covid-19 crises. We also support the ADB to prepare relevant policy actions for the ADB’s social protection program.
In Bangladesh, the USAID-funded Achieving Universal Health Coverage (AUHC) project is transforming the nationwide Smiling Sun network of 399 clinics into a consolidated pro-poor social enterprise: the Surjer Hashi Network (SHN).
ThinkWell developed a network of African institutions to improve the uptake of evidence and research in health systems policymaking.
ThinkWell coordinated and oversaw the 2012 annual program review (APR) of Bangladesh’s heath sector. This 18-person, three-month intensive review assessed seven key aspects of the health sector, from public financial management to urban health.
We presented a model, recommendations, and an investment case for the Rockefeller Foundation to support the development of a sub-Saharan African network for health policy and systems research.
We helped Malawi to develop the health workforce needed to end preventable maternal and child deaths, support family planning goals, control the HIV epidemic, and protect communities from infectious diseases.
ThinkWell supported the UHC2030 working group on sustainability and health systems strengthening. We collected country experiences on health system challenges and opportunities that transition from foreign aid reliance.
We leveraged provider payment, strategic purchasing, and health insurance to improve efficiency and equity in Jordan.
With ThinkWell support, Haiti’s Ministry of Health strengthened its systems and capacity to receive and harmonize direct funding and to contract out health care services.
ThinkWell worked with Liberia’s Ministry of Health and Social Work (MOHSW), Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Legislature to design Liberia’s first national health insurance program.
ThinkWell provided technical expertise, analysis, and managerial and logistical support to a Joint Donor Technical Assistance Fund (JDTAF) in Bangladesh. JDTAF participants hailed from a wide range of bilateral and multilateral donor agencies.
ThinkWell studied methods to strengthen participatory governance in Africa.
ThinkWell developed an investment case to scale SBCE interventions for reproductive, maternal, newborn, adolescent and child health (RMNACH).
ThinkWell provided technical support to the government of Laos to produce, use, and institutionalize health account data to inform health sector reform.
ThinkWell worked inside the USAID/Haiti mission as their lead technical expert in health systems strengthening.
