Country Director, currently working in Indonesia
Dr. Prastuti Soewondo is the country director of ThinkWell’s Indonesia programs. Previously, she served as the lead of Indonesia’s Social Health Insurance Policy Working Group, which focuses on public health program evaluations, financial sustainability assessments of health programs, and the appraisal of health care providers’ behaviors. In addition, Dr. Soewondo has recently served on the Board of the Teaching Hospital University of Indonesia and on the Board of Indonesia’s Social Insurance Administration Organization (Badan Pelaksana Jaminan Sosial Kesehatan). Since 1986, she has lectured for the University of Indonesia’s School of Public Health, where she also spent four years as the vice dean.
Dr. Soewondo has served as a research consultant and principle investigator on numerous health projects for clients such as the World Health Organization, World Bank, USAID, Asian Development Bank, and Oxford Policy Management.
Her work and research are primarily focused around health expenditures tracking, health financing, health economics, pharmaco-economics, and public financial management.
Dr. Soewondo holds a PhD and master’s in health administration.
