Contracts Director, currently working in USA
Philomina Owusu-Ansah has several years of experience in contracts compliance, procurement, legal analysis, and negotiation, including negotiation of bi-lateral and multi-lateral agreements with international organizations (e.g., World Bank, IMF, Asian Development Bank, etc.). She started her career with the Legislative House in Ghana as a legislative assistant where she provided support to House committees (government budget review, legislations and appropriations bills). After relocating to the USA, she worked with a law firm as a contracts officer, during which she worked with financial institutions on loan agreements to individuals and commercial entities. As a contracts officer, her role was to ensure that agreements secured by customers had the right terms and conditions and with zero inherent risk for the customers. In that role, she also educated customers of their legal rights, requirements, obligations, and the issues of non-compliance of loan agreements.
Since transitioning to the international development industry, she worked with organizations such as FHI 360, Palladium, ICMA, and ACDI/VOCA. As a contracts and procurement professional, she worked across different departments to build synergy for program success.
