Technical Advisor, currently working in Uganda
Michael Chaitkin is a health economics, financing, and policy specialist with more than 13 years of experience in applied research, policy analysis, and project management. His research and advisory activities in Africa and Asia focus on the design and reform of publicly financed health coverage schemes; the sustainability, integration, and transition of vertical health programs; and costing and resource tracking. Michael has held full-time and consulting roles with numerous global health and development organizations, including the Global Financing Facility (GFF), Results for Development (R4D), ThinkWell, the World Bank, and the World Health Organization (WHO). He is also an adjunct instructor at the George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health in Washington, DC.
Michael joined ThinkWell full-time in 2021 as a technical advisor for the Strategic Purchasing for Primary Health Care (SP4PHC) project in Uganda. He holds an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a BA in international relations from Stanford University.
