ThinkWell Fellow, currently working in Philippines
Dr. Ma. Celina (Celine) Guillermo is a medical doctor from the Philippines and has recently graduated with a dual MD-MBA degree from the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. Ever since childhood, Celine has been active in her community as a volunteer in various community development projects, as well as a leader in multiple academic and international medical and advocacy organizations.
Her story began when she volunteered at her town’s SPED center when she was a kid. Hearing the stories of children with mental disabilities and seeing the daily struggles of their families as they try to find affordable healthcare gave her the passion to be a doctor, change-maker, and advocate for people with mental disabilities. With the guidance of ThinkWell, Celine is excited to spark more awareness and action towards a more inclusive Philippine healthcare system.
“Lord, teach me the art of small steps. Give me enough imagination to be able to share with someone a little bit of warmth, in the right place, at the right time, with words or with silence.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
