Janet Keru is a monitoring, evaluation, and research professional with 11 years of experience providing strategic and technical leadership in monitoring & evaluation (M&E), results reporting, and data utilization for program decision-making. At ThinkWell, Janet is a senior technical advisor for monitoring & evaluation. She supports the Strategic Purchasing for Primary Health Care project in Kenya. Prior to joining ThinkWell, Janet was an M&E Manager at Intrahealth supporting human resources for health projects. She previously worked in Jhpiego, Palladium, and PSI driving the M&E agenda in project implementation. Janet holds a Master of Arts in project planning and management. She is pursuing a PhD in population studies with a concentration in fertility analysis at the University of Nairobi.

Geredine Kandie is a senior program analyst currently working in Kakamega County on the Service Delivery Redesign (SDR) project. Geredine Kandie is a public health professional with vast knowledge in health systems management and a background in clinical work. She has worked in the academic world for more than a decade. Geredine holds a Master of Science in Public Health from Meru University of Science, a Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management from Kenya Methodist University (KeMU), and a diploma in clinical medicine, surgery & community health from Kenya Medical Training Center. Currently she is finishing up on a Master of Science in Health System Management from KeMU. She has a few publications and holds various certifications in research, mentorship and health education and training.

Anne Musuva is a health systems specialist with over 13 years experience in both the public and private sectors. At ThinkWell, Anne is the country director in Kenya. She has extensive experience in designing, implementing, and leading the scale-up of various health programs. Prior to joining ThinkWell, Anne was the chief operating officer and head of programs at Population Services Kenya. Her role involved oversight and strategic direction of all programs at PS Kenya (including a franchise of over 400 private health facilities – Tunza franchise).  Anne also worked in the Ministry of Health as a medical superintendent and district medical officer of health. This experience helped her appreciate the challenges and opportunities in the public sector and with health systems in general. She has a MSc in public health – disease control from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. She also holds a Bachelors degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She has also participated in various courses on health financing and public health. She serves as a member of the University Council of the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belgium and chairs the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Committee of the Kenya HealthCare Federation.

Mary Kioko is a seasoned award management professional with several years of experience in the development sector. Mary brings in a wealth of experience, having supported various projects through the award management cycle from generation, negotiation, award, administration, and close-out. In the past years, she has been instrumental in assuring compliance and providing award management support across programs with funding from the United States Government, foundations, and other foreign governments. Daniel has over ten years experience as an economist for the government of Kenya as well as local and international consultancy firms. While in Kenya’s Ministry of Devolution and Economic Planning, he coordinated and supported decentralized economic development planning, annual budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation for six years as an economist. He was part of the initial team of economists who facilitated the establishment of the Economic Planning and Budgeting units of Kenya’s devolved governments.

Previously, he worked for Palladium International Group as an Economist/Budget Analyst providing technical support on the Afya Pwani project. In this role, he helped the Health Departments of coastal counties in Kenya improve their health financing capabilities including budgeting, planning, monitoring, and evaluation. He is fluent in English and Swahili. He is a graduate of the University of Nairobi School of Economics.

Boniface has extensive experience in healthcare financing in Kenya for health programs that have made positive contributions in strengthening health systems and improving better access to quality health services in collaboration with both the National Ministry of Health and County Departments of Health. Prior to ThinkWell, he has worked as a Consultant on public finance in the health sector with the world-bank and ThinkWell.

He has implemented a variety of programs in the health sector to include Maternal and Newborn Improvement (MANI) where he implemented Results Based Financing interventions and Health Systems Strengthening  with Options Consultancy, with PwC where he implemented the Reproductive Health – Output Based Approach (RH-OBA) in Kenya and participated in mentoring other voucher programs implemented in Uganda, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Nigeria. and with AAR Health services where he provided support in the development, administration and roll out of health schemes for the private health sector.

He is passionate about connecting public health finances to improved quality service delivery, especially as the world discusses the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
