Anne Musuva is a health systems specialist with over 13 years experience in both the public and private sectors. At ThinkWell, Anne is the country director in Kenya. She has extensive experience in designing, implementing, and leading the scale-up of various health programs. Prior to joining ThinkWell, Anne was the chief operating officer and head of programs at Population Services Kenya. Her role involved oversight and strategic direction of all programs at PS Kenya (including a franchise of over 400 private health facilities – Tunza franchise). Anne also worked in the Ministry of Health as a medical superintendent and district medical officer of health. This experience helped her appreciate the challenges and opportunities in the public sector and with health systems in general. She has a MSc in public health – disease control from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. She also holds a Bachelors degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She has also participated in various courses on health financing and public health. She serves as a member of the University Council of the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belgium and chairs the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Committee of the Kenya HealthCare Federation.
Universal health coverage (UHC) sums up Anne’s vision for health. Anne is passionate (if not frantic!) about ensuring that all people can access quality healthcare without financial hardship.
